⏳ Stefi’s Shorts #4 - Protect your time

Dear friends,

I’ve realized that Friday isn’t the best day for sending out a newsletter. If I don’t have time to finish it in the morning I end up spending my evening on it and this doesn’t align with my weekly plan given Friday evenings are reserved to spend with my partner.

This weekend, as I reflected on January’s events and my progress towards my goals, I recognized the risk of losing track of important things like health, friends, and family. Therefore this month I am focusing on doing the yearly checkups that I am really procrastinating on. I’d much rather see my dentist than any other doctor. With every year though it’s important to see where your body and mind are. Without these in a good state, it’s challenging to reach any goals. Take this as a reminder.

3 Ideas That Made Me Think This Week

  • I put out a big 2024 calendar and the message on top says: “cuida tu tiempo” - Protect your time, a simple yet profound reminder of the importance of safeguarding our most valuable resource.
  • Why is technology against society? I was watching a review of the Apple Vision Pro and this is exactly what my partner made this thought-provoking remark and it got me thinking. The tech behind might be cool and everything but how are we going to socialize, spend time with one another if everyone is wearing such a device on their face going around town?
  • “We worry about making our parents proud when we should be focused on making our children proud.” - let this quote from Adam Grant sink it.

YouTube Video or Podcast of the week

This week, I stumbled across a hidden gem on YouTube that left me absolutely captivated 🤯 The storytelling, visuals, sounds, and emotions are just next level. I watched all of Ali’s videos and it left me extremely energized and inspired. It was incredibly difficult to choose just one video to highlight for this week. This kind of YouTube content is rare and the strangest thing is that this channel hasn’t even reached 5k subscribers because the algorithm didn’t pick it up 😱

Sit back and enjoy!

Lifestyle

I spend so much time thinking and analyzing things which can be very helpful in some cases but other times it just leads to unnecessary delays in decision-making. As a close friend repeatedly told me, indecision not only occupies valuable mental space but also drains my energy. This week I’ve been trying to not overthink easy decisions. Let’s see how it will go 😊

Quote of the Week

“It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much. … The life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully” - Seneca, On the Shortness of Life

Have a great day, and thanks for reading,

Stefi
